Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Ten Holdings is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its businesses by working with our clients, suppliers and employees to achieve operational efficiencies.
Network Ten launched its environmental management plan, Making Your Mark, in April 2008. Making Your Mark commits Network Ten to:
- greenhouse gas emission reductions of 30 per cent by 2020 from 2006/07 levels
- regular measurement and reporting of the Network's carbon and water footprints
- increased on-air, digital and community initiatives to raise environmental awareness and inspire people to take positive climate change action
- support for not-for-profit environmental partners worth more than $1 million in air-time; and
- collaboration with suppliers, employees, governments and the wider industry to improve ways of doing business in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

In 2008 / 2009 Network Ten has:
- reduced Scope 1 emissions by 1,470 tonnes of CO2 equivalents
- reduced Scope 2 emissions by 11,684 tonnes of CO2 equivalents
- reduced Scope 3 emissions by 9,786 tonnes of CO2 equivalents
EYE Group has completed an independent audit of its Australian business. Similar audits are planned for EYE's offshore businesses in 2010. The recommendations and findings of these audits will be used to determine the next steps in EYE's sustainability program.
In 2008 / 2009 EYE Group has:
- upgraded ADVAL's screen washing systems to reduce water usage and remove the need for solvent-based cleaning agents
- reduced waste sent to landfill by its ADVAL operations by installing Luscher Direct To Screen (DTS) project system
- ADVAL is a found and active member of the industry association POPAI (Point-of-Purchase Advertising International) and a strong supporter of POPAI's move toward more environmentally sustainble practices by producers, suppliers and clients.
